We have a new foster in the house.
Meet Katie:
Katie is an 8-month old retriever mix. Horrid photo, I know. She's such a beautiful deep black that its hard to get a decent photo of her with the camera phone.
Katie was adopted once, but the dog at her new home started being really nasty to her, and finally Katie started to fight back. The original dog is a lot smaller than she is, so her family made the heartwrenching decision to turn her back to the rescue.
She's a real sweetheart, Katie is. She gets along with the other dogs, she respects the cats, loves the kids. Mostly perfect.
Her new nickname, though, is "Katydid."
As in...
"Who chewed up my shoe?"
'Katie did."
"Who chewed up this toy?"
"Katie did."
"Who chewed the vacuum cleaner power cord into THREE SEPARATE PIECES????"
"Katie did."
Sigh.
